When Fear Shows Up, Here’s What Strong Leaders Do
In this blog post, I’m sharing the mindset shifts that create real resilience and freedom. You’ll discover how to move from reaction to power, take responsibility for your thoughts and emotions, and cultivate the unshakable life you were meant to live where growth, contribution, and peace guide every choice.

Fear and limitations show up in all areas of life. The good news? There’s a clear way to move past them and tap into your passion and purpose. Today, I want to share a simple acronym to guide you: POWER.
P – Pinpoint Your Why
Clarity is power. Ask yourself: Why do you really want this outcome?
What’s at stake if you don’t move forward?
Your “why” should be big enough to carry you through adversity. For me, it’s seeing people step into their dreams, move out of pain, and create lasting change in their lives. When your why is clear, it fuels action even when the world pushes back.
O – Own Your Passion
Passion isn’t just a feeling. It’s a choice. Choosing to engage with what lights you up brings energy when circumstances try to drain you. Dive into what matters to your heart. Passion keeps you resilient, inspired, and ready to show up fully.
W – Work With Grace, Not Pressure
Pressure drains creativity and joy. When we force ourselves under deadlines or expectations, we get exhausted and blocked. Instead, align with your passion. Work becomes energizing rather than a grind. Ride the wave of your calling, not what others expect of you.
E – Expect Resistance, But Reframe It
Resistance isn’t a stop sign, it’s a sign of growth. Reframe challenges as part of your journey. Jamie Kern Lima shares a story in Worthy about a dance class where one woman kept going the wrong way. The teacher reminded everyone: “There are no mistakes, only solos.”
Reframing resistance transforms stress into growth, fear into curiosity, and struggle into learning. Ask yourself: How is this preparing me for my next step?
R – Run Toward the Future, Not From the Past
Focusing on what went wrong keeps you stuck. Where focus goes, energy flows. Shift your attention to your goals and dreams. Passion and purpose keep you building, not escaping. Fear shrinks when purpose expands.
Fear doesn’t have to hold you back. By leaning into your why, owning your passion, and taking action despite resistance, you can create a life of resilience and purpose. To help you do this, I’m giving away a free workbook called Future Forward:A Guided Workbook to Shift Your Focus and Step Into Possibility, with practical exercises to guide you in stepping fully into your power and moving boldly toward your future.
